Free access registration

Access to the trails within the Valle dell'Orfento Nature Reserve in the Municipality of Caramanico Terme, in the heart of the Maiella National Park, in autonomy (without a guide) is regulated by a free access registration. This registration is issued remotely via QR-Codes located at strategic points in the Municipality of Caramanico Terme or at the Valle dell’Orfento Visitor Center. (Municipal Council Resolution No. 68 of 20/10/2021).

The registration is required for ecological monitoring and biodiversity management of wildlife and flora within the Reserve.

USEFUL INFORMATION & EMERGENCY NUMBERS

The Valle dell'Orfento is a wild mountain area. Before starting your hike, ensure you have appropriate equipment, water supplies, and trekking shoes. Mobile network coverage is unstable, partial, or completely absent in large areas of the canyon.
